In late 2020, we were just dying to host an event after a year of distancing and postponed weddings! A styled shoot seemed like a wonderful way to make some new connections and stretch some creative muscles. In fact, it was at this styled shoot that we met our dear friend Colette, with whom we would later go on to start another company, The Catholic Bridal Collective! We knew that we wanted our first styled shoot to feature something that felt true to our business as a Catholic event planning company. Stella Maris was the perfect choice! At the time, our business was operating under the name Something Blue Catholic Weddings, so a Marian devotion theme was ideal for us because it was dedicated to Our Lady and featuring our favorite colors of blue and green.
You can read more about the devotion of Stella Maris here (and maybe shop for some jewelry too)!
We tried to be very intentional about the details of our shoot. Our bride’s rosary was made from reclaimed seagrass, while the groom’s rosary was made from recycled fishing materials. Overall, we were absolutely thrilled with the results of our first styled shoot, which was later published on Spoken Bride.
Thanks to the other vendors who participated in this project!
