Every wedding vendor has their list of locations that they can’t wait to work! One of ours has always been Laurel Hall. Laurel Hall is arguably the most gorgeous venue in the Indianapolis area. It features a stone exterior, leaded and stained glass, dark wood features, tons of stone fireplaces, and the most gorgeous solarium with a classic black and while tile floor. When we had the chance to work with Laurel Hall as the reception venue for Rachel & Alex’s late august wedding, we were overjoyed since historic mansion and manor house venues are our favorites! How stunning is the leaded glass on these windows?
Rachel was the most beautiful bride! We adore her styling for this wedding; the classic and sleek updo, her simple yet oh so glamorous silhouette, and of course, her blue printed shoes. Alex’s classic black and white tux was the perfect accompaniment!
Rachel & Alex opted for a first look at the venue to make the morning a little more relaxed. Their first look took place in Laurel Hall’s stunning solarium (which would also serve as the dance floor later on)! Getting to take some portraits together and with their bridal party before the ceremony made it much easier to get to the church because all the bridal party were able to take one party bus to the ceremony. For our part of the day, we had nothing to complain about. We started by helping style the dining room, place florals on the cake, pin boutonnieres for the groomsmen, and keep the schedule running smoothly to get to the ceremony on time.
The ceremony at St. John the Evangelist was beautiful! We have worked at St. John’s many times, and we are never disappointed with this church. Their music, incense, and respect for the sanctity of the wedding mass are unparalleled. The grand exit on the church steps was also a highlight!
We love when a photographer takes some behind the scenes of our team. Here’s us at the church during the ceremony, a brief moment of calm before the grand exit!
