Casey & Alex came in to wedding planning with a clear theme for the day! They wanted to plan their mass and reception around Casey’s favorite devotion, Stella Maris. We actually planned our own styled shoot around this theme in 2020, so we were so excited to see a wedding inspired by the same concept. Casey and Alex opted to use shades of blue, green, yellow, and gold for their wedding day.
Their church was St. John the Evangelist, a historical, gothic style church in downtown Indianapolis. It’s painted in shades of blue, which made it very harmonious with the wedding’s theme. Their venue also has a unique history! It’s used to be the cafeteria building of a hospital, which doesn’t sound like much, but it was build in a time where beauty was just as much a concern as function! It’s an Art Deco style building with lots of classic tile and dozens of large windows.
We were also so impressed with Casey & Alex’s dance floor! Our biggest piece of advice for couples who want a vibrant dance floor is to stay on the floor. If the bride and groom dance, so will the guests, and Casey and Alex embraced that wholeheartedly. In over fifty weddings, we have never seen a dance floor so active for so long!
Congratulations, Casey & Alex! Thank you for having us as part of your wedding day!
Thanks to all the vendors who helped our team create such a great day!
